So the MCU movies that the Marvel Creative Team didn't have a hand in we're Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3, and AOU. So three mediocre movies....

So, Taika Waititi is reportedly in talks to direct Thor: Ragnarok.
Pretty unusual choice, but considering Marvel have plucked small filmmakers known for comedy in the past (James Gunn, Russo Brothers), this could be something special. I've seen Boy, which he directed (and maybe starred in? I can't remember), and it was great.

I've seen What We Do In The Shadows, I enjoyed it but nothing about the direction seemed too revolutionary or inspired. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Well, the direction in Peyton Reed's filmography was never very spectacular, but Ant-Man was, visually, quite good. So we'll have to wait and see.

I don't think I've seen any of this dude's work, but I'll give Marvel the pass because they've done a solid job when it comes to finding directors like this (kinda reminds me of James Gunn taking on GOTG, actually, even though this dude will have less control over the project).

This is interesting. Seems like studios have been going big or gone home (literally). If they can't grt their big #1, they're falling back to some of their in house guys.

Black Panther moved forward to February 2018 and Captain Marvel moved back to March 2019 as a result. Three untitled Marvel films to be released in 2020.

Ant-Man sequel is cool, reassuring that he won't get Giant-Man'd in Civil War. Unless it's a prequel...

I'll be very salty if they kill Scott Lang in Civil War, but I can't see that happening. It would be a waste of a character.
