BJ kinda missed the point that FC, DOFP, and Apocalypse are all together a trilogy about Xavier, Erik, and Raven.
It's what all three of them experience since they're the closest to each other.

Still Mystique adds absolutely nothing to this dynamic honestly. Maybe just as our surrogate character who we witness the fight between Magneto and Xavier through the eyes of. But it would have been fine without her. Hell they could have used any mutant that was worth half a shit. I'd accept Jubilee for fuck sakes! |

They could have used ANYBODY from the original line up of the X-Men instead but we got Mystique.
Which obviously worked since I loved first class and enjoyed DOFP but it just doesn't make much sense to me.
Also it's just annoying to have Nightcrawler show up but have his supposed mother be there and be like 5 years older than he is.

3 films is pretty standard for a contract like that. Doesn't mean they have plans for two more films or they plan on using him again, but at least they've got another soul locked up if they ever desire to do so.
