Remember how Cumberbatch, Oldman, and Fassbender were all up for the same role? Well turns out that role must have been for Captain Phasma before they decided to gender swap the character.
Makes sense too, I remember thinking, "how the hell could you have three very different actors all fit into the same role? What does that say about your character?". Well, know there's an explanation to it all.

I'm guessing she'll be like Boba Fett were anybody could portray her in this film, then in the later films we'll see more of her personality and character. Presumably, because they left the personality untapped they'll be able to craft ot around the actor. At least it's not a character like Kylo Ren where he has a distinct personality, getting 3 very different actors would then be very concerning. |
