I've gone from pre-ordering this to waiting until game reviews come out. I thought EA had turned a note with this game but now that notion has gone to shit. The beta was fun, without a doubt, but I want to make sure the rest of the game is fun and not mangled by EA before I fork up the cash for the game and some more PS+. The sad part is Disney gave EA the rights to the Star Wars video game properties. So essentially it's mediocre from here on out with a very small chance of a hidden gem.

Oh my god, a game company is having a season pass for their game. Stop the [funk]ing presses! What I don't get is that people [funky kong] about paying 14.99 a month for a game that has content to last them at least a year (and probably more released by that time), but then they fork over $110 to play a FPS that offers a few different game modes and maps.

Oh my god, a game company is making you pay nearly double the standard to play the full game, and that's not even including the rest of the DLC that's going to be tacted on! Stop the [funk]ing presses! IKR?!

Goddamn, only EA could go from being on a pedestal one day to being mobbed by fans the next.
And (unfortunately), both cases justified.

After reading up on much of the EU over these past few weeks, I now understand (and sympathize) with this meme I understand why they did it. It's all over the place and Disney gets less of a head ache and more control if they just scrap it and create their own. A lot of the EU is garbage, but a lot of it is really really good as well. I only hope they adapt some of the good parts in the Disneyline now. Remember Jilly, the EU hinders the prequels. But yeah, I understand as well, it just sucks having to say guys like Darth Nihilus and Revan are just legends. But on the bright side, most of the shitty EU came after Ep. V/VI and that's all gone, the good stuff is at least a "possibility".

Every goddamn game has DLC and season passes. Why is this one a big deal? Because A) Season Passes are pieces of shit and have proven that even the brightest of studios (e.g. Rocksteady) can fall susceptible to them and B) You're now basically paying twice the price for something that should be just one game.

I don't know how you can defend EA now. This is easily one of their shittiest moves.
And just because season passes are a widespread trend doesn't justify them (although that seems to be the way most companies, studios, whatever want to call them, think these day).

How am I defending EA? I'm not a fan of DLC but I know I'm not forced to buy it. Why specifically attack EA for doing what EVERY other studio is doing. Ubisoft does it, Capcom does it, Microsoft does it, Bethesda does it, why not attack them all whenever they release a game that will have DLC?

DLC is common place in gaming now to expand your game further than what it was originally. You offer it to people who want to play more of your game, not forcing anyone to do so.
