Obviously the days are numbered in which we will see RDJ on the big screen as Tony Stark. However, Marvel will pump out at lease one more movie because the last made 1.2 Billion (even though I think this was largely due to momentum from the Avengers).
I personally would like to see Rescue in the next one. I would like to think that Pepper would have a sort of taste for action especially with her kicking ass at the end of Iron Man 3. With the fallout of Ultron in AOU, and if all party members involved here are still alive (I think they will be), Stark realizes that he cannot fully protect Pepper, so he creates a suit for her and trains her how to use it. I think it would also add a dimension to her and Stark's relationship that Marvel has yet to explore. It would add a mentor student role instead of just the usual romantic relationship. And because Stark is Stark and Pepper is Pepper, they but heads a few times in this training process. I think Gwyneth Paltrow is an excellent actress, and I was happy she had a very large role in IM3. I think she deserves to have an equal or even larger role in IM4; however, I'm tired of seeing my superhero's significant others being the damsels in distress (even if she kicked ass at the end due to the Extremis serum). Even though Rescue was mainly Earth 616 (I think?), there's no reason why Marvel can't adapt this to their movie universe and do something with this.

I think this would be an awesome thing to add to IM4.
Just make the real Mandarin the villain along side Finger Fang Foom and you have a blockbuster worthy of a fourth film

No probably not but they really should. I know it was only a Marvel One Shot but why have that big reveal and not act on it? He is Iron Man's #1 enemy and we didn't see the REAL him in 3. I am a fan of Iron Man 3 and the fake Mandarin (I wasn't at first because of my butt hurt but hey its a good film) I just wish Kingsley WAS the real Mandarin. His Terrorist portrayal was the most menacing villain I've seen in the MCU. Then...well you know what happened. My point is we need to see Tony's real arch rival. |

To know that Kingsley won't play the role again is a major let down. Maybe he had plastic surgery and took the mannerisms of the Mandy so we can have him back  Funny enough it's the only movie I've ever seen twice in theatres. First time was awful second time I went into it without dwelling on the reveal |

I'm good on Iron Man film, honestly. If they made another would I see it? Sure, but Tony's had his solo film "Wrap up" already, he'll get plenty of time to shine in AOU, Civil War, and the Infinity War, and there's other characters, arcs, and opportunities to explore in place of an Iron Man 4.

I wouldn't mind seeing Pepper kick ass in the films to follow, especially in something like the Infinity War films. It'd be pretty kick ass to see an Iron trio fight along side each other and the rest of the Avengers.
